About Our Organization

The Twin Cities Civil War Round Table promotes efforts for education, preservation, and restoration related to the American Civil War. Anyone interested in the history of the American Civil War and its sites, monuments, and artifacts are welcome as members.

The Round Table features speakers at monthly meetings, provides financial support for various events, such as Minnesota History Day, contributes to restoration projects, supports the annual Civil War Symposium in cooperation with other round tables in the state, and maintains a speaker’s bureau for school and community groups.

Some of our members have ancestors who participated in the American Civil War and have shared documentation about the experience of those individuals.

Minnesota was a new state during the Civil War and a Mecca for immigrants. As many as 1,000 steamboats a year dropped newcomers at the St. Paul landings.

Monthly meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday each month from September through May at the Knights of Columbus in Bloomington, MN for members and their guests.
